Dr. Rachel Esterquest

Dr. Rachel Esterquest is a podiatrist and foot and ankle surgeon committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive care for patients of all ages. With extensive training in both surgical and non-surgical management of foot and ankle conditions, Dr. Esterquest focuses on helping patients return to their active lifestyles with improved mobility, reduced pain, and overall improved quality of life.

A local to the Northwest Chicago Suburbs, Dr. Esterquest is from Crystal Lake, IL. She attended Illinois Wesleyan University for her undergraduate education where she studied Biology, followed by matriculation into the Biomedical Sciences Master’s program at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. After the master’s program, Dr. Esterquest stayed in North Chicago where she earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Esterquest completed her foot and ankle surgical residency at Weiss Memorial Hospital and Mt. Sinai Hospital – a Level 1 trauma center – in Chicago, IL, where she gained experience in trauma, reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, and diabetic limb salvage. Her expertise includes trauma and fracture care, bunions, hammertoes, wound care, and diabetic limb salvage.

Dr. Esterquest believes in a personalized approach to treatment, combining evidence-based medicine with the patient’s individual goals to achieve the best outcomes for each patient. Whether addressing chronic conditions like bunions and heel pain, or managing acute surgical pathologies like ankle fractures and diabetic foot infections, Dr. Esterquest strives to empower patients through education.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Esterquest enjoys crafting, traveling, and spending time with her family, husband, and dachshund, Fletcher.
